If we constantly pursue things external to ourselves, our inner world will inevitably become scattered and disarrayed.
追求好的事物並沒有錯,只是,如果我們沒有事先認識到,你所追求的東西,隨時會連同環境而變化,並沒有不變的真實性。
There's nothing wrong with seeking good things, however, if we don't first recognize that what you pursue can change with the environment, and possesses no unchanging reality...
那麼就容易產生,太多的幻想與期待,心隨著環境東奔西跑。
...then it's easy to generate too many fantasies and expectations, causing the mind to rush about aimlessly with the environment.
如果已經認識到事物的真相,就應該將心,從對外追求的地方,往內收回來,把注意力放在自己的心上。
If you have already recognized the true nature of things, then you should draw your mind back inward, from external pursuits, and place your attention upon your own heart.
單純的知道,這只是攀緣、妄想之心的變化而已,除了不斷變化之外並無實體。
Simply know that these are merely the shifts of an attached, delusive mind, with no true substance beyond their constant change.
因此不須要追尋及跟隨這樣的感覺走。
Therefore, there's no need to chase or follow these feelings.
當我們越是不相信自己的心時,就越容易將自己安住於超然、寧靜的位置。
The more we cease to believe in our own restless mind, the easier it becomes to settle ourselves into a transcendent, tranquil state.
