If we have doubts about the process of our mind and body's operation, or the origin of life itself, if our purpose for doing something is unclear, then our belief becomes unfocused, and our mind easily runs astray, following its own delusions.
But do not dwell on or worry about this.
Try to stay aware, allowing things to unfold according to their natural laws. Simply know when a thought arises, and know when a thought ceases. Just observe it, without attempting to change it. You hold no intention of fabrication.
At this point, no matter what state you are in, your inner being will become increasingly peaceful.
It is like a clear pond in the forest, where all beautiful and rare animals come to drink. You clearly see the true nature of all things, watching exotic animals come and go, yet you remain still and undisturbed. Afflictions may arise, and delusions may persist, but you are able to see right through them instantly.
Is this not the manifestation of impermanence and non-self? This is the tranquility and happiness achieved by the Buddha.
Let's consider a simple example:
"The story of my indigenous friend! One summer, a wealthy old friend came to visit. He spent several days practicing on the mountain, meditating by the cliffside.
My indigenous friend brought sticky rice and fruit as an offering to him, and they sat together.
The friend asked him how to practice.
The wealthy friend replied, "We have many afflictions; we must use the sword of wisdom to slay our robber-afflictions!"
Just then, a macaque visited, stole their fruit, and ran away.
The wealthy friend asked him, "Why don't you catch and slaughter those monkeys to eat?"
The indigenous friend said, "No, we won't harm them; we'll only chase them away!"
The wealthy friend asked him, "Why?"
He said, "Because they will always come back!"
We should treat our delusions and afflictions in the same way, just as they treated the monkeys.
Of course, these "monkeys" will not be so polite; they will steal all your mindfulness.
But isn't this the truth you seek? Without wisdom, there is no attainment!
Here, I express my gratitude to you, wishing you all happiness and completeness!
